Hoje toda família Martins Borges não podia deixar de manifestar nesta tão representativa data em Nossas Vidas (13 de fevereiro),
data de nascimento de Gilberto Martins Borges. Pois justamente, há menos de um ano atrás, o Nosso Patriarca nos deixou , levando sua história e deixando um magnífico legado, a cada um de seus familiares , seus amigos e as pessoas que o que o conheceram, através seus objetivos, vontades e desejos de fazer acontecer o que sempre acreditava, enfim nos deixou exemplos a cada um de nós: “que a vida só tem sentido, se acreditarmos de viver o AQUI E AGORA”.

Concepção do Nome “Jirmum com Leite” e Descrição Genérica de
Nossas Idas e Vindas e Permanência por cerca de 30 dias na Fazenda
Santana – Uruquê – Quixeramobim – CE- Brasil
Foi
a partir da ida de meu irmão de sangue Ricardo Correia Borges,
um ano mais novo, no mês de julho, esteve por diversos motivos
em Natal, possivelmente a cidade que conheço mais acolhedora e
hospitaleira do Nordeste. Um dos motivos foi revisitar nossa prima
segunda, Angela Borges, que reativou lembranças de nossas idas que
coincidentemente eram em sua maioria no mês de julho, quando
ficávamos praticamente um mês convivendo com Tio Alzir (Alzir
Barreto de Araújo)e sua esposa Ninfa Borges. Esta era o importante
elo de ligação entre nossa pequena e grande família.
Vide
abaixo algumas fotos da casa de Ângela Borges na praia de Jenipabu,
uma das praias mais belas que conheci no Rio Grande do Norte, com sua
suntuosa Lagoa de Jenipabu, local onde tive oportunidade de ter
grandes vivências de viagens de outrora ao Rio Grande do Norte.
Após
esta ida, e o retomada de contado de Ângela, conectada conosco,
principalmente através do “Whatsapp” e conectado
consequentemente com outras mídias decorrentes. Devido a isto tudo,
adveio uma ideia de revivermos, através de multirelatos,
principalmente dos personagens ligados a estas duas famílias e
outras pessoas próximas, ou mesmo de nossa rede de relacionamento
real e virtual. Na concepção da ideia, sempre que tenho
oportunidade de comprar abóboras no sudeste, seja em Belo Horizonte
onde moro, Betim onde trabalhei e São Paulo, onde resido devido ao
fato de fazer curso com intenções de trilhar uma carreira
acadêmica. Em todo momento que compro, ou mesmo cozinho, ou como
recordo de vivências e histórias da Fazenda Santana.
Segundo o livro de Rogério
Cavalcante, denominado Cearencês, “o termo ‘jirmum’ ou
jerimum, e que é a forma mais usada pelo cearense, é que este
quase não usa o termo abóbora. O “jurmum” tem dois tipos o
‘jurmum-caboclo’ ou jerimum caboclo e que segundo Rogério
Cavalcante, muito encontrado no sertão. Não é doce; é consumido
no almoço e no jantar. Por outro lado, o Jirmum-de-leite é também
muito encontrado no sertão, e que tem também sabor adocicado; é
consumido com leite, mais comum no “quebra-jejum”.

The concept for
the name "’Jirmum’ with Milk" and Generic
Dscription of Our Departures,Arrivals and staying for
about 30 days at Santana Farm - Fazenda Santana – Uruquê –
Quixeramobim – Ceará- Northeast of Brasil
The concept of that
idea was exactly after my one year younger being brother
Ricardo Correia Borges traveled in July to Natal (capital
of Northeastern State Rio Grande do Norte - probably
the most welcoming and hospitable in Notheast Region of
Brazil). One of the reasons was revisiting our second
cousin Angela Borges, which revived memories of our arrivals
and departures which coincidentally were mostly in July,
when we were barely a month living with Uncle Alzir (Alzir
Barreto de Araujo) and his wife Ninfa Borges. She was a great
link between our small and large Martins and
Borges family.
See below some
pictures of Angela Borges house on the beach of Jenipabu, one of
the most beautiful beaches that I met in Rio Grande do Norte,
where located the sumptuous Jenipabu Lagoon, where I was able to
have great travel experiences in the past traveling to the
Rio Grande do Nnorte .
After this trip, and
the resumption of contact Angela, connected with us, mainly
through "Whatsapp" and therefore connected with other
media arising. Because of this all stemmed the idea of reviving
through multireports mainly of characters linked to these two
families and others close, or even our real and
virtual relationship network. In the conception of the idea,
whenever I have opportunity to buy pumpkins in the southeast, is
in Belo Horizonte where I live, where I worked Betim and São
Paulo, where I live because of the fact to travel with intent to
tread an academic career. At all times I buy, or even cook or as
recall experiences and stories of Santana Farm.
According to the
Rogerio Cavalcante’s book entitled Cearencês "the term
'jirmum' or pumpkin, which is the form most used by the Ceará,
it is that it almost does not use the term pumpkin. The "jurmum"
has two types the ‘jirmum-caboclo often found in the
backcountry. It is not sweet. It is consumed at lunch and
dinner. On the other hand, the Jirmum-de-leite is also
very found in the outback, and also has sweet taste; It is
consumed with milk, more common in the "break-fast".
I do not remember what
we drank with milk, but it seems that is the jirmum-de-leite is
the most curious harvested from the farm, often in the
surrounding of the house where branched off and was collected
with relative ease; others came from elsewhere in doing or were
given by residents as gifts for us. Curious that this practice,
both by the ease of having those great moments quantities of
milk due to cattle ranches Uncle Alzir, and milk a constant food
consumed in those moments and we continue in our daily
lives of each of us. However, jirmum with milk with “jirmum-de
leite”nurse, only I remember to have eaten at those moments
staying at this farm and I don’t remember to have eaten
anywhere else. Hence the connection of jirmum-de-leite food with
milk is peculiar the experiences and stories linked
to our childhood with this wonderful family Alzir
Uncle, Aunt Ninfa, their legitimate children and another adopted
son, who only remember the name " Chico ".
It seems that those
words used mainly by our Father Gilberto Martins
Borges, the experience of the consumption of this food and the
name he uttered would have a relationship perhaps with his
childhood in “das Matas” Mountain Matas in Taboril (Ceará,
Brazil), and also in Ipu (another municipality of Ceará state,
famous for its waterfall of Ipu coming from waters from
‘Serra Grande” near the limit of Ceara and Piaui
state. For who else heard the term "jirmum" unlike
others who spoke more pumpkin.
Our trip to this
place was very peculiar happened more in our school
holidays was more in during the month of July where we were
almost thirty days together where we recall many experiences and
stories that emerged during these accounts. Initially I
stress our trip from Fortaleza, usually at dawn, and
took around 3-4 hours of travel by private car, often the brand
Land Rover, worshiped, used and refurbished by my Father, and
sometimes with convoying Uncle Azir in his car also driving to
his distant farm. The closest place we came was Quixeramobim
after last terms by the city of Quixadá. And upon arriving in
the locality called Uruquê. I do not remember well the trip
from a road was unpaved and we opened and we closed several
gates in these trips, and we passed through the Ceará Federal
University Experimental Farm initially named as “Normal”
Farm where Uncle Alzir often make
researches related to
their line of work at the university, the Animal Science where
as I recall cattle would be more concerned.
To arrive at the home
of Santana farm, we passed several gates to get to one that was
close to the farm cowboy's house, where he and his residence
next door, very close to the corral with a lot of livestock.
Then we headed down a
road to the farmhouse which was in a private place, such as a
fenced and where a house was found, and this vicinity where they
were a few fruit as ateiras (where picking minutes or pine
cones) and Also I remember “jirmuns” plantations that
branched into areas often for large areas. In front of the house
is a dam, water reservoir, the open and around this whole
scenario, ranges that formed like a "bag” formed of a set
of mountains as speaking native residents of that place. The
most striking mountains we saw behind the dam had a mark that
stood out from the others, was a huge mastic in highest top of
the front mountain . For a few opportunities, we climbed
this mountain, not easy to go up this mastic, and I remember
only with its branches and no leaves.
And in this scenario
of a backwoods of semi-arid Northeast, where little rain, and
that was the scene of great moments from our childhood,
me and Ricardo and others, some children of Uncle Alzir and
Ninfa, who were mostly teenagers along with Gilberto and Maria
José Correia Borges, my Mother.
